Generator questions, answered
How much does a standby generator system cost?+
It depends on the generator size and the installation. A turnkey project covers electrical, plumbing, mechanical, boring, pad, permitting, and inspections under one contract. Because so many factors drive the total, we offer a free consultation visit to review your situation. Financing is available to spread the cost into monthly payments.
How many kW do I need for my home?+
It depends on your heating system, hot water, appliances, lighting, home size, and what you want powered during an outage. We do a load analysis and sizing consultation to determine the right generator.
Can I supply my own generator?+
Yes. It is more convenient and safer when we provide the generator and all services, but we will install customer-supplied units. Many customers have provided a Honeywell generator bought at Costco and had us do the turnkey installation.
Do you offer the lowest price?+
We cannot guarantee the lowest price, but in our comparisons our turnkey pricing has been among the lowest.
What should I look for in a generator contractor?+
Generators involve site planning, load sizing, HOA approval, groundwork, gas meter sizing, plumbing and mechanical requirements, possible panel upgrades, three kinds of permits and inspections, and full-system testing. Look for a contractor who can run all of it under a single contract, and who is licensed, bonded, and insured for every part.
